Ingredients of Vendhaya kali
STEP : 1
The key ingredients to prepare vendhaya kali,we need raw rice,methi seeds,jaggery,urad dal,dry ginger powder,sesame oil and salt.

Initially take a cup of raw rice ,you can even add half cup of idli rice.
STEP : 3
Add half cup of water and let it soak it for minimum 2 to 3 hours.

Seperately take two or three tablespoon of urad dal or ulundhu in a seperate bowl.

Add a tablespoon of methi seeds or fenugreek seeds along with the urad dal or ulundhu.

Let it soak it for minimum two to three hours,soaking urad dal with methi seeds gives nice creamy batter.

Turn on the flame ,add a cup of finely crunched or powdered jaggery in a seperate vessel .

Add little bit water and mix it completely till it dissolves and let it boil.

After few minutes jaggery syrup starts bubbles and it completely dissolves turn off the flame

Strain the prepared jaggery syrup using strainer to seperate the impurities in a seperate bowl.

Jaggery syrup is prepared ,make sure there is no need to prepare a string consistency

Stained the soaked raw rice water completely and add it in a blender or mixie jar.

Blend it for few seconds by adding little bit of water and make it smooth paste.

Seperately add the soaked urad dal and methi seeds in a blender or mixie jar.

Blend it for few seconds till it turns nice and smooth paste ,blend these seperately to bring a smooth batter.

Add the smooth and thick batter along with raw rice batter in a seperate bowl and mix it.

Turn on the flame,place a thick and long vessel,add a cup of water in it.

When it starts boils ,add a little bit of salt and mix it then bring to boil.

Add the mixed batter along with the boiled water and mix it side by side.

Add half tablespoon of dry ginger powder or sukku powder and mix for better smell.

Add the jaggery syrup and mix it ,make sure the batter should stir it continously.

Add two to three tablespoon of sesame oil or gingelly oil or nallanai and mix it.

Stir at regular intervals to avoid the formation of lumps,when it is cooked completely turn off the flame,Our tasty traditional vendhaya kali is ready.
