STEP : 1
At the first step wash the Vella kadala or chana daal well with water and then soak this overnight or for about 6 hours.

Then slice the onion ,ginger , garlic,tomato and green chilly in to small pieces then keep it aside, then heat the pressure cooker.

When it hot add some ghee or butter to it when it melts add onion, ginger, garlic, greenchilly, tomato and some pudina leaves to it.

Stir well and let it brawn and translucent, when it's done add three pieces of chicken stalk to it, this is optional you can avoid if you are a vegetarian.

Mix it well and then add the ground spices like cardamom,clove , pepper, cinnamon and then pour turmeric powder,chilly powder and coriander powder.

Mix it well and wait for two minutes,when it gets roasted well add the soaked chana daal to it, add salt also.

Then close the pressure cooker and wait for four to five visils or until it gets cooked well, when it's done open the cooker.

Stir it well and then add the curd to it, keep the flame low before adding curd ,then mix it well.

After adding curd no need to boil it , after mixing off the flame and put some coriander leaves to it, our dish is ready.
