The pongal is an ancient food , but thr making of pongal in a village style is gives a different taste to the food as well as it is fully loaded with vitamins and minerals which is good breakfast for school kids .

Ingredients of Vegetable pongal recipe

1.75 tbsp Salt
3.00 cup Water

2.00 tbsp Oil
1.00 no Onion
1.00 no Cabage

Vegetable pongal recipe

Firstly take a one carrot and cut this in a smallsizes as in the image .  Now take a bens . wash this before cutting and cut in measurment aas inthe image .  Cabbage also cut in thesame as in the image .  And also cutthe 1 small onion . into small sizes as in the image .  And also peel off the Avare kalu and wash this in a water .

Now take a one small cooker .  Add 2 spun of oil .and fry the vegitabel one by one .in a midium flame .

Take a one midium size potato . and cut this one also in a small size .  And keeep this in a water after cutting . And add this lastly in the time of frying.

After frying all the vegitabel .  Add 1/2 Cup of Moong dal.  And 1/2 cup of Rice into the coooker .  And also add 1 green chilly .  Add 4 Black pepper. Add 2 spun of salt also.

After addingall to the cooker now close the cooker .  And make it 6 whisel .in a midium flame .

After cooking upto 6 whisels . the pongal rice is looking as in the below image .  Open the cooker after it is cool down .

Now take a one small thadka pan.  IN this add 1 Spun of ghee .  And makke it heat in a low flame.  Add 1/2 spun of cumin seeds .  2 to 3 curry leaves .  and fry this for 1 minute .

STEP : 7

After making the thadka . now add this to a pongal . and mix this fully .  IT have to mix fully .

Lastly in the time of serving chopped the coriender leaves for garnishing purpose .  Choped this in a small as possibel .

Now the healthy and tasty . with cooked vegitabel pongalis ready to serve now .  Serve this in a hot only .

Dear very nice and different, so creative dish, god bless you keep rocking. Not a tamilian.... But my most favorite dish... I was in chennai for quite a some time..love the place n the most I miss is the people of chennai... This is my favorite, thanks for the recipe. I love pongal +vada +sambar +chutney combo very much than anything.. thank you dear for this. One tip: After pressure realised in the cooker, just add milk and mix.... It keeps the pongal soft till evening.
