Ingredients of Vazhaipoo curry
STEP : 1
Cut the banana flowers into small pieces. Remove the buds and stem and clean it very well and make sure that the pieces are chopped in uniform size.

Add some water in the pressure cooker, add salt and turmeric to it and add the chopped banana flower to the same and boil it in a pressure cooker.

Once the pressure cooker is cooled take out the boiled banana flower and mash it very well so that a smooth consistency is reached.

Take some small shrimps, wash them very well, remove the veins. Add the salt and turmeric and mix well. Add oil in a kadai and heat it. Fry the shrimps in the oil.

Take out the fried shrimps from the kadai and drain the excess oil and keep it aside for cooking in the vegetable.

Chop the potatoes into cubes Chop the tomatoes into small pieces Slit the green chili and make a paste of mustard and coconut.

Heat oil in a kadai, add the cumin seeds Add the potatoes to fry. Then add the green chili and tomato and fry for 2-3 minutes till the tomato softens and melts.

Add the fried shrimps to the mixture above. Add salt and turmeric. Add sugar and mix very well and stir and fry.

Add the boiled banana leaves to the mixture above and add coconut and mustard paste to the same. Mix very well and stir all the contents.

Cook the above mixture for 2 -3 minutes and add the freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix well. The dish is now ready to be served.
