All over the India Ganesh Chaturdhi is celebrated with much devotion. pappulo Undrallu is Andhra style traditional recipe prepared for Lord Ganesha. This dish has many Ingredients such as rice flour, jaggery, and yellow moong dal. This dis is very tasty and healthy too.

Ingredients of Undrallu recipe

0.50 cup Boiled Green Moon dal
2.00 tbsp Ghee
1.00 cup Milk
1.00 cup Rice Flour
2.00 cup Water
1.00 cup Jaggery

Undrallu recipe

Take a vessel, add water let it come to a boil. After it boils, reduce the heat and add jaggery and rice flour. At this point don't touch the rice flour, leave it as it is for 10 mins over medium heat.

Using fingers make small balls. After you finish making all the balls, place the vessel in a pressure cooker without any lid on the vessel. Do sprinkle one or two tea spoons of ghee on the top of the balls and steam it for 10 min without using a weight. Once the pressure drops open the cooker and place the vessel aside. You may observe here the shiny balls.

Do sprinkle one or two tea spoons of ghee on the top of the balls and steam it for 10 min without using a weight. Once the pressure drops open the cooker and place the vessel aside. To prepare this delicious dish, first soak moong dal (Pesarapappu) in water for 15 minutes. Cook it on stove up until it is cooked very soft. Drain the excess water and mash the moong dal nicely.

Now add the mashed moong dal to it and mix nicely and bring the mixture to a boil in a low heat, I f this mixture is very thick add some more water or milk (approx. as required ) to get a slightly thinner consistency. But do not make it very think or very thick, it should be of medium consistency.

Take vessel and boil 1/2 cup of water and add jaggery and cook it on low flame until the jaggery is melted. Now add the mashed moong dal to it and mix nicely and bring the mixture to a boil in a low heat, I f this mixture is very thick add some more water or milk (approx. as required ) to get a slightly thinner consistency. But do not make it very think or very thick, it should be of medium consistency.

Add steamed rice balls and boil with low simmer for 5-6 minutes until they absorb all the flavour and starts floating up. At this stage by adding more milk or milk to suit your required consistency. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Let it sit for few minutes before serving which will absorb the flavour and sweetness.
