  • 1.00 cup bittergourd
  • 1.00 cup moongdal
  • 0.25 tbsp methiseeds
  • 0.25 tbsp cuminseeds
  • 1.00 tbsp oil
  • 0.25 tbsp salt
  • 0.25 tbsp turmericpowder
  • 1.00 nos wholeredchilli
  • 2.00 tbsp drymethileaves
  • 1.00 tbsp ghee
  • 0.25 tbsp ginger

  • Firstly chop the bitter gourd in very small size and keep it separate. Now heat oil in a kadai and add the chopped bitter gourd, fry it in a low flame until the bitter gourd become crispy.

  • After frying the bitter gourd transfer it into a separate plate. On the same heated kadai add few seeds of methi seeds, cumin seeds and whole red chili. Saute it for few seconds.

  • Take 1 cup moong dal, œ teaspoon ginger, salt as require and œ teaspoon turmeric powder in a pressure cooker. Cook this moong dal in a pressure cooker. Now add the same cooked moong dal in the kadai and mix well.

  • Add the fried bitter gourd and mix well. Reduce the flame to low and cover it until the excess water get evaporate. Remove the cover and check the consistency of dal.

  • Now add the dry methi leaves and mix it. Then add 1 tablespoon of ghee and again cook it for 5 minutes. Also add a pinch of sugar and turn off the gas.

  • Now transfer this bitter gourd dal to a serving bowl and garnish with some dry methi leaves and whole red chili. Enjoy this with thinly sliced potato fries and hot white rice.
