Thaen Mittai – Easy And Delicious Thaen Mittai Recipe For Children
Thaen Mittai is one such sweet which makes everyone go drooling once you start eating it. It is a traditional sweet recipe of Tamil Nadu.it is also call as kids recipe.
Ingredients
Thaen Mittai Preparation
- 1.00 cup Raw rice
- 0.75 cup Urad dal
- 0.25 tbsp food color
- 0.25 tbsp Baking soda
- 0.75 liter Oil
Sugar Syrup Preparation
- 1.00 cup Sugar
- 2.00 cup water
- 2.00 nos green cardamoms
- 0.50 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
Thaen Mittai Preparation
- The key ingredients to prepare honey sugar candy ,we need raw rice,urad dal,sugar,food color,green cardamoms,baking soda and oil to fry.
- Let’s soak the ingredients,Initially Take a seperate bowl add a cup of raw rice in it.
- Add 3/4th cup of urad dal in it,don’t add too more uzhundhu ,it should be medium.
- Pour three cups of water and wash it thoroughly and soak it for 3 to 4 hours.
- After 3 to 4 hours ,when it is soaked ,drain the water completely and add in a blender.
- Blend it for few minutes and make it a smooth paste ,the batter should be thick.
- Take a pinch of food color ,add a drop of water and make it liquid.
- Shift the thick batter in a seperate bowl,Add the drop of food color in a batter.
- Now mix it completely by using hands ,the batter slightly turns light orange color .
- Add a pinch of baking soda or cooking soda,don’t skip it because the balls turns harder.
- Lert’s start to fry ,turn on the flame ,place a pan or tawa ,pour required oil in it.
- When the oil heats completely,take a little batter and drop them one by one slowly.
- Then fry it in a low flame till it turns crispy,turn it gently using slotted spoon.
- When it turns golden brown color ,take out the balls and strain the oil completely.
- Now the small balls is ready ,the balls must be in medium size ,it should not too big.
- Drop all the balls in a warm sugar syrup and dip it thoroughly and leave it for few minutes,our yummy honey sugar candy is ready.
Sugar Syrup Preparation
- Let’s start to prepare sugar syrup ,turn on the flame,place a vessel add a cup of sugar
- Add a cup of water and allow them to boil for few seconds till it turns half string consistency.
- Sugar completely dissolves and boiled half string consistency,it means it get string but cut off immediately.
- Add three nos of crunched green cardamoms or chotti elaichi powder for good smell then mix it.
- Squeeze the 5 drops of lemon juice and mix it,adding lemon juice to avoid crystallisation .
