Tandoori roti is a famous Indian recipe which is more popular in northern India. It is a healthy and filling recipe as you can prepare the recipe with very less oil. The calories in tandoori is less when compared to other roti.
Tandoori roti making is very simple and you can make it with easily available ingredients at home.
Tandoori roti in an oven is also very simple to bake, and if you don’t have an oven, no worries you can make it even without an oven. So yes, tandoori roti at home is very possible.
How to make tandoori roti at home?
The basic tandoori roti ingredients are maida, salt and water. You have to knead a very soft dough to make perfect tandoori roti. Some people also knead the dough using warm milk or sour curd to make it more soft.
You can use a few drops of oil while kneading the dough, but it’s not mandatory. The most important step is you must rest the dough at least for 30 minutes to 1 hour before you start making the roti.
The recipe I usually make is with some chicken keema stuffing. I make it really spicy and so this stuffed tandoori roti does not need any side dish.
In case you are making a plain tandoori roti, then you can serve it with tandoori chicken or tandoori fish. If you are a vegetarian lover, then you can make a tasty yummy paneer butter masala to serve along with tandoori roti.
Can we make tandoori roti using atta?
Definitely yes, if you want your tandoori roti nutrition value to be high and need to reduce carb, then you can simply replace maida with whole wheat atta.
Just follow the same recipe. The taste may vary a bit, but am sure it will be a real treat to your taste buds.
