Karupatti appam is our most traditional south indian sweet dish , These sweet recipe is specially made in karthigai festivals which is very famous in our tamilnadu. It is good for health to all group age people and easy to make.

Ingredients of Sweet appam recipe

1.00 cup Raw rice
1.00 cup Wheat flour
2.00 no karupatti
1.00 no Elakki Bananas
0.25 tbsp Methi seeds
0.25 tbsp Cardamom powder
0.50 no dry ginger
1.00 tbsp Urad dal
0.25 tbsp cooking soda
0.50 cup Oil
0.25 tbsp Salt
0.50 cup Grated coconuts

The key ingredient to prepare karupatti appam ,we need rice,karupatti,wheat flour, cooking soda,small banana,urad dal,methi seeds,coconut,cardamom powder,dry ginger and salt.

Add a tablespoon of urad dal or ulutham paruppu and methi seeds along with these ingredients for soaking purpose .

Wash it twice or thrice thoroughly and let the ingredients soak minimum 2 hours for well soaking.

Take two nos of karupatti or palm jaggery to crunch it into very small pieces

After 2 hours,Take a blender , drain the water seperately and add the soaked ingredients in a blender jar.

Close the batter and leave it to fermentation for 8 hours or atleast 3 to 4 hours.
