STEP : 1
The key ingredient to prepare karupatti appam ,we need rice,karupatti,wheat flour, cooking soda,small banana,urad dal,methi seeds,coconut,cardamom powder,dry ginger and salt.

Add a cup of raw rice or pacharisi in a seperate bowl for soaking purpose

STEP : 3
Add a tablespoon of urad dal or ulutham paruppu and methi seeds along with these ingredients for soaking purpose .

Wash it twice or thrice thoroughly and let the ingredients soak minimum 2 hours for well soaking.

Take two nos of karupatti or palm jaggery to crunch it into very small pieces

STEP : 6
Crunch the palm jaggery into small pieces and measure two cups then keep it aside

STEP : 7
After 2 hours,Take a blender , drain the water seperately and add the soaked ingredients in a blender jar.

Add a crunched palm jaggery along with the ingredients for blending it ,no need to make syrup.

For the blended taste add a single nos of small bananas ,you can add rasthali.

Add a pinch of dry ginger and green cardamoms along with the ingredients for good smell.

Add little pinch of salt to enhance taste along with the ingredients then blend it.

Blend all those ingredients twice or thrice or few minutes till it turns coarse paste

Add half cup of wheat flour if it is watery along with then mix it completely

Close the batter and leave it to fermentation for 8 hours or atleast 3 to 4 hours.

Sprinkle a pinch of cooking soda along with the batter ,you can also skip it.

Sprinkle a cup of grated coconut for more crunchy and taste along with the batter.

Heat the laddle, spread oil or ghee in each hole and leave it to heat .

Pour the fermented batter in each hole then close the lid and allow to cook.

Turn the appam carefully till it make crisp and cook on other side and transfer them in a seperate plate ,
