  • 2.00 cup Parboiled Rice
  • 0.75 cup Black Gram
  • 0.50 cup Cooked Rice
  • 0.75 tbsp Salt
  • 0.25 tbsp Baking Soda
  • 0.50 tbsp Oil

  • Take two cups of parboiled rice and was them for four to five times in fresh water and soak them for five hours.

  • Take another bowl add 3/4 cup of Black Gram and wash them for four to five times in fresh water and keep them for soak at least for five hours.

  • After five hours drained the water and add to a mixer jar or wet grinder,which is to be grind separately,as fine as possible,by adding little water.

  • After the rice was grounded,In that same jar add the well washed and soaked Black gram and add 3/4 cup of cooked rice with them and grind them by adding little enough water.

  • Transfer the grounded rice and gram flour mixture to a bowl,and mix them well till it gets well mixes together,and keep them for over night.

  • Next day morning mix the flour well by adding little water with them,while mixing them you feel the flour was well fermented and it is to be soft.

  • Then add a pinch of baking soda with them and stir well,you can also use the baking soda as dissolve in water,you can also skip it if you no need.

  • Then add needed salt for them and stir well till the salts are well dissolved and mixes evenly together the Batter.

  • Then take a Idly mold tray crease some oil or ghee over them and now the soft and silky idly batter and pour them to all mold.

  • Repeat the same for filling all idly molds and heat the idly vessel or steamer by adding two cups of water with them.

  • Now place the multi Idly stand with that idly steamer and close the lid and brings them to boil for ten to twelve minutes.

  • After ten minutes remove the lid,now the soft and smooth Idly is ready now,so take the idly stand from them.

  • Give the cooling time for them and remove them from that tray by using a knife or Spoon,and now serve Hot with spicy chutney or sambar recipes.
