Ingredients
  

Jaggery Preparation

  • 0.45 cup Palm Sugar Or Jaggery
  • 0.25 cup Water

Pongal Preparation

  • 1.00 cup Raw Rice
  • 0.25 cup Yellow Split Gram
  • 3.00 tbsp Ghee
  • 0.25 cup Cashew Nuts
  • 0.25 cup cardamom powder Dry Grapes

Instructions
 

Jaggery Preparation

  • Heat a thick bottom pan add some grated or powdered palm sugar,which needs to melt and filter to remove the impurities.

  • Then add little water with them and keep on stirring still the added palm sugar comes to dissolves.

Pongal Preparation

  • Heat a pan add some yellow split gram and dry roast them till it gets light brown in color.

  • Rinse the roasted split gram and raw rice in water and soak for at least ten to fifteen minutes.

  • Take a pressure cooker add the rinsed rice and gram mixture and add enough water with them.

  • Brings to pressure cook the gram and rice for three to four whistles till it comes to mushy,when the pressure downs itself and open the lid.

  • Now filter the prepared palm sugar water with that pressure cooked rice and gram mixture.

  • Then add little amount of green cardamom powder which gives a good flavor to this recipe.

  • Stir well till the added palm sugar water and cardamom powder are well mixed with the rice and gram mixture.

  • Heat a tempering pan add some ghee and roast some cashew nuts and raisins with them.

  • Pour the roasted raisins and cashew nuts mixture and melted ghee over the prepared rice mixture,Mix and garnish well and serve hot.
