Minapa punukulu-how to cook this recipe was very simple,very tasty n so yummy. It requires 30 minutes to cook. We can pair up with tomato chutney or coconut chutney Best snack for evening times pair up with chai n enjoy.

Ingredients of Punugulu

1.00 cup Minapappu or urad dal
3.00 tbsp Water
1.00 no Onions if big
2.00 no Onions if small
2.00 no Green chillies
10.00 gram Ginger
10.00 tbsp Oil

Punugulu

According to mentioned note in above we have to measure the 1 cup of urad dal n kept aside. After that we have to take measured quantities of urad dal transfer into a casserole or in other bowls according to your wish. After transferring urad dal in a casserole we have to add water to bowl containing urad dal We have to add water above inch until the urad dal completely immersed in water. After adding water we have to wait for 8 hours to start our cooking

STEP : 1

After completion of soaking 1 cup of urad dal in water for 8 hours we have to wash the soaked urad dal well n drain the water completely. After draining the water from soaked urad dal we have to collect all the ingredients like onions,green chillies,ginger,salt,oil,kadai.

After that we have to take the soaked urad dal Now we have to take a mixi jar n wash it well to remove any dust particles if present in that. After washing of mixi jar we have to add soaked urad dal in mixi jar to grind we have to grind soaked urad dal tightly. Why we have to grind tightly means to get perfect shape n not to stick to kadai while frying.

STEP : 3

After collecting all the ingredients like soaked urad dal,onions,green chillies,ginger,salt,oil, kadai. After that we have to take the soaked urad dal Now we have to take a mixi jar n wash it well to remove any dust particles if present in that. After washing of mixi jar we have to add soaked urad dal in mixi jar to grind we have to grind soaked urad dal tightly. Why we have to grind tightly means to get perfect shape n not to stick to kadai while frying.

After completion of grinding of soaked urad dal we have to transfer the grinded urad dal paste to another casserole n close with lid,if you have or any plate is enough because paste may dry n we won't get perfect punukulu.

After that we have to switch on the stove n place kadai on stove Now we have to oil as per mentioned in ingredients column n we have to heat the kadai at low flame.

We have added salt to grinded urad dal paste,heated kadai with oil. After that we have to take 6 table spoons of water to cook punukulu. Why we have taken a bowl of water hear because to cook punukulu we have grinded urad dal paste tightly know so easily to remove paste n dip in oil. We took water

Now we have taken 6 table spoons of water know,we to dip our fingers in water bowl before taking paste in our hands to drop easily in kadai with oil.

After that we have added sliced onions green chillies ginger salt to grinded urad dal paste After that we have taken bowl of water n dipped our hand in water Now we have to take a small amount of urad dal paste after dipping our hand in water Now we can get nice shape to punukulu n we can easily drop into oil

STEP : 14

After collecting all the ingredients like onions,green chillies,ginger,salt,oil we have grinded soaked urad dal paste tightly. After that we have added sliced onions green chillies ginger salt to grinded urad dal paste After that we have taken bowl of water n dipped our hand in water Now we have to take a small amount of urad dal paste after dipping our hand in water Now we can get nice shape to punukulu n we can easily drop into oil

Don't kept at high flame while adding these balls into heated oil. It may spill to skin n may cause burns.

STEP : 15

After collecting all the ingredients like onions green chillies ,ginger ,salt ,oil we have grinded soaked urad dal paste tightly know after that we have sliced onions, green chillies,ginger Now we have to add those prepared rounded shape like ball into heated kadai containing oil. Don't kept at high flame while adding these balls into heated oil. It may spill to skin n may cause burns.

After making all the above steps completely we have to add those urad dal balls as many as possible to fry in kadai with oil Don't add many of the balls while removing those balls we may get problem due to stickyness So be careful while dropping those balls in heat oil because oil may spill out. Don't kept kadai with oil at high flame also.

STEP : 16

After adding all the balls to kadai containing oil we have to fry those balls well into golden colour to get crispy taste to our punukulu. Kept your kadai at middle of the flame not at high flame not at low flame if we kept at low flame they absorb more oil. If kept at high flame punukulu get spoiled they got more n more fried n turns into dark brown colour.

STEP : 17

After adding all the balls to kadai containing oil we have to fry those balls well into golden colour to get crispy taste to our punukulu. Kept your kadai at middle of the flame not at high flame not at low flame if we kept at low flame they absorb more oil. If kept at high flame punukulu get spoiled they got more n more fried n turns into dark brown colour.

After completing all the above steps we have to fry the dropped punukulu in kadai containing oil we have to turn those punukulu and fry them like this as per image in the below. Don't fry them more n more we should fry punukulu into slight golden colour only not into dark brown colour. Repeat the process for remained urad dal paste for making of another punukulu.

After frying the punukulu into golden colour we have to switch off the stove n transfer those well fried golden colour punukulu into another bowl. Enjoy the taste of your punukulu either with raitha with onions,tomato chutney,coconut chutney. You can also enjoy with tomato sauce. These are healthy also. Here I made a tomato chutney you can enjoy with either of the chutney's which I have mentioned in above matter. For decorative purposes I added plain curd If anyone want to enjoy punukulu with plain curd they can. It's your choice.

STEP : 19

After frying the punukulu into golden colour we have to switch off the stove n transfer those well fried golden colour punukulu into another bowl. Enjoy the taste of your punukulu either with raitha with onions,tomato chutney,coconut chutney. You can also enjoy with tomato sauce. These are healthy also. Here I made a tomato chutney you can enjoy with either of the chutney's which I have mentioned in above matter. For decorative purposes I added plain curd If anyone want to enjoy punukulu with plain curd they can. It's your choice.

urad dal is very good for health.This is the best for evening snack to eat especially kids likes so much this punugulu. It can be eat with groundnut cutney it tastes very good.
