This is a Bengali style stuffed pointed gourd. The stuffing is made out of prawn paste and then the pointed gourd is cooked. It is usually served as a side dish with rice and dal and can also be at times served as a starter or snack item.

Ingredients of Potoler dolma

10.00 no Pointed Gourd
1.50 cup Shrimps
1.00 tbsp Mustard Paste
1.00 tbsp Coconut Paste
2.00 tbsp Chili
0.25 cup Besan
0.25 tbsp Salt
6.00 tbsp Oil
0.25 tbsp turmeric

Potoler dolma

Take big sized pointed gourds and wash them very well. Peel them and have theme clean and with a sharp edged spoon scoop out all matter from inside of the pointed gourd.

Heat oil in a kadai and fry the prawns very well so that they turn golden brown in color on all sides.

Add the coconut paste and the mustard paste and mix it very well with the prawn. Also add the green chili.

Cook the gravy for sometime with the prawn and the masala till almost all the masala is dried up and the prawn is ready.

After the prawn is dried up and is ready then put it in a bowl and let it cool before putting the same in a grinder.
