Ingredients of Pirandai thuvaiyal
STEP : 1
The key ingredients to prepare pirandai thokku, we need pirandai,shallots onions,garlic cloves,tamarind,urad dal,mustard seeds,cumin seeds,hing,turmeric powder,red chillies,oil and salt.

Scrap the pirandai or peel the sharp edges on all four sides and discard the leaves.
STEP : 3
Wash it and cut it into small pieces, it is advisable to grease your palm with sesame oil.

Talk a lemon size tamarind and add little bit of water and let it soak.
STEP : 5
For making pirandai thokku ,turn on the flame,place a pan ,add two tablespoon of sesame oil.

Add small pieces of pirandai and saute it for few minutes till it turns pale green.

After sauting transfer it in a plate, make sure saute well in oil otherwise it will make itching.

For tampering ,add two tablespoon of sesame oil in a same pan and let it heat.

Add a tablespoon of cumin seeds or jeera for more spices along with the hot oil.

Add a tablespoon of urad dal and let it fry for few seconds in a medium flame.

Add a pinch of hing or asafoetida in a medium flame and let it cook.

Add 8 to 10 garlic cloves and saute it for few seconds and let it fry.

Add 8 to 10 shallot onions and saute it for few seconds and let it fry.

Add 5 to 6 small pieces of red chillies , donât fry the red chillies in high flame so that the tempering taste will gone.

strain the tamarind stock water and add the soaked tamarind and let it fry for second.

Add a pinch of turmeric powder and saute it for few seconds ,let it cook.

Add the fried pirandai pieces along with the spicy ingredients and mix itcompletely for a second.

Add a tablespoon of salt or as per your taste and mix it,let it boil.

When the mixture boils completely,turn off the flame and let it cool for few seconds.

When the ingredients cools completely,add it in a blender jar to make a thin paste.

After blending for few seconds add little bit of water to make pirandai too soft.

Blend all those for few seconds till it turns creamy texture and keep it aside.

For seasoning take a same kadai in a low flame , add four to five tablespoon of oil.

Add a tablespoon of mustard seeds and let it splatter for few seconds in a medium flame.

Add a tablespoon of cumin seeds and let it splatter for few seconds in a medium flame.

Add 5 to 6 curry leaves along with the ingredients and leave it to splutter for few seconds.

Add the blended mixture along with the seasoning ingredients and mix it for few seconds.

When it boils completely and starts thickening add little bit of water and mix it.

When it boils for few minutes,turn off the flame and transfer it in a bowl.Our healthy pirandai thokku is ready now.
