Ingredients of Nellikai sadam
STEP : 1
The key ingredients to prepare Gooseberry rice, we need amla ,rice, chana dal,onion,garlic cloves,turmeric powder, peanuts,urad dal,coriander leaves,onion,red chili powder,curry leaves, green chillies, red chillies,oil and salt.

Add a cup of water and let the rice soak under 10 to 15 minutes.

Take four nos of amla ,deseed the amla and cut into small pieces and add in a blender.

Add half cup of coriander leaves and green chillies in a blender along with the amla.

Blend it for few minutes till it becomes soft and transfer it in a bowl.

To cook the rice,turn on the flame ,place a thick vessel and add few drops of oil in a water.

Add the soaked rice in a boiling water and allow to boil for few minutes.

Strain the water completely ,take away the boiled rice outside in a plate,let it cool.

Turn on the flame,place a vessel add half cup of oil and let it heat.

Add half tablespoon of mustard seeds in hot oil and let it splutter for few seconds

Add two tablespoon of chana dal or kadalai paruppu and let it fry in medium flame.

Add two tablespoon of urad dal or ulundhu paruppu and let it fry in medium flame.

Add half cup of fresh peanuts or groundnuts and let it fry in medium flame.

Add few curry leaves in hot oil and let it fry with other ingredients for few seconds.

Add few broken red chillies along with the dal and nuts and let it fry medium flame.

Add a cup of thin sliced onions and garlic saute all these and let it cook for few minutes.

.Add a tablespoon of turmeric powder for a taste along with the cooking mixture .

Add a tablespoon of salt or as per taste along with the ingredients and mix it .

Add the blended amla and green chilli along with the remaining ingredients and mix it.

Add the boiled rice over the frying ingredients completely ,then mix it for few seconds.

After mixing it ,cook it in very flame then turn off and then transfer in a bowl.
