In this dish mutton used is goats meat and not adult sheep which is very different. This curry is made with tender goat with bones. This is a curried lamb dish to devour! It's so good light and aromatic.

Ingredients of Mutton curry with coconut milk

1.00 kg Mutton
3.00 tbsp oil
1.00 tbsp ginger paste
1.00 tbsp garlic paste
3.00 no red chilli
2.00 no curry leaves
1.50 cup small onion
1.00 tbsp mustard seeds
3.00 tbsp garam masala
2.00 tbsp coriander powder
3.00 tbsp chilli powder
0.50 tbsp turmeric powder
0.75 cup coconut milk
2.00 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1.00 tbsp pepper powder
2.00 tbsp salt
1.00 cup water

Mutton curry with coconut milk

Clean & wash mutton well in water with the little amount of turmeric & keep aside.Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard. Fry onion, red chilies, ginger, garlic and curry leaves and saute well.

Stirring continuously till the onion is a deep golden brown color.Then add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala into it then saute well.

If the masala cooked well and turned into brown add mutton pieces, salt and some water.Stir well to coat with all the ingredients.

lastly and mostly add coconut milk and bring to a boil turn off heat and allow to sit a while, then add coriander leaves.Serve hot with Rice, chapatti, idle, dosa, Appam, idiyappam etc..

this is a different and a really nice mutton curry recipe. this recipe is more like a semi dry mutton curry. the use of tender goat meat was really nice and got a good flavor to it. if you do not like spice i recommend you to not add the red chili . it was a really nice dish overall and does not take up much of your time also.
