Ingredients of Mushroom thoran
STEP : 1
wash the mushrooms thoroughly with water you can use any type of mushroom .I havr taken 250 grams of mushroom hear.Dont dip the mushrooms in water for too long this will make the mushrooms absorb water and our dish become tasteless and watery.
STEP : 2
Remove all the water from the washed mushroom by draining the mushroom.Cut the mushroom into small pieces.Dont cut mushroom in big piece.

Cut half of a large onion into small pieces.Cut green chillies and two.peices of garlic into small peices.
STEP : 4
Take 3 to 4 curry leaves ,cumin seeds , mustard, seeds,dried red chilly.Place a pan on medium fame add oil and allow it heat.

when oil get boiled add mustard seeds and allo to splatter.Then add redchilly ,curry leaves ,cumin seeds.Allow to turn it into golden yellow colour.Mix it using a spoon other wise it will get burned .

Add garlic onion and green chilly pieces into pan and mix it well allow it cook in oil for 2 to 3 minutes by stirring frequently till onion become transperent in nature.

Add the pepper powder,turmeric powder,crushed garam masala or garam masala powder and salt to pan and mix it well.Only add a pinch off garam masala powder and add less amount of pepper and turmeric powder and salt other wise the taste of mushroom will be overpowered by the masalas so be careful.

Now add the mushroom pieces and mix it well and close the pan and allow it to cook for 3 to 4 minutes .Then open the pan and check for water content if water content is present cook till the water dried up by the pan kept open.Dont forget to stirr evenly.

Now add the grated coconut.A hand full off grated coconut is enough other wise the taste will become different.Mix it well.
STEP : 10
Cook for 2 more minutes and check for salt.If required add more salt and mix.Now the tasty and healthy mushroom thoran is ready.Serve hot with rice.
