  • 2 cups Mulaikeerai half Bunch
  • 10.00 tbsp Small Onions
  • 1.50 cup Moong Dal
  • 0.25 tbsp Asafoetida powder
  • 0.50 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2.00 tbsp Oil
  • 1.00 tbsp salt
  • 1.00 tbsp ghee
  • 1.00 cup water
  • 5.00 no dry red chilli
  • 1.00 tbsp mustard seed
  • 1.00 no tomato
  • 5.00 tbsp closer garlic

Instructions
 

Mulai Keerai Kottu

  • first Cut the roots of the greens and discard it. Wash keerai in water and put Turmeric powder a pinch than wash.
  • Now you need to chop the mulai keerai finely and it should be like this.
  • Now take the ingredients Small Onions , cloves garlic , dry red chilly , tomato.
  • Now you need to take the moong dal and soak for 2 to 3 sec.
  • Now you need to take the cloves garlic and Mash the cloves garlic like this.
  • Now you need to heat the pan and add 2 tsp oil into the pan.
  • Now you need to add the Mustard seeds into the pan and wait for 1 to 2 mins.
  • Now you need to add the chopped Small Onions into the pan.wait for 5 mins.
  • Now you need to add the mashed garlic cloves into the pan and mix it well.
  • Now you need to add the chopped tomato into the pan wait for 4 mins.
  • Now you need to add the dry Red chillies into the pan and mix it well.
  • Now you need to add the soaked Moong dal into the pan and than mix it.
  • Now you need to add the Asafoetida powder into the pan and than mix it well.
  • Now you need to add the chopped Mulai Keerai into the pan.wait for 2 sec.
  • Now you need to add the water into the pan. Don’t add more water into the keerai.
  • Now you need to add the Salt to taste and than mix it well.keep the flame high.
  • Now you need to close the lid for 4 to 5 mins.Keep the flame high.
  • Now you need to open the lid and leave it for 4 to 5 mins.
  • Now you need to add ghee into the Mulai Keerai and than mix it well.
  • At last When the water gets half boiled you need to switch off the flame .
  • Now the Mulai Keerai Kootu is ready.Serve hot with plain rice or as a side dish for Vathal kuzhambhu.
