Moong dal is a healthy ingredient which everyone must include in their diet. Kids must have this moong dal at least once in a week as it contains many valuable nutrients in it.
What if you don’t like moong dal? And how to make moong dal into a tasty recipe for kids? It is so simple. Make this moong dal halwa and your kids will definitely love it because of its rich taste.
Moong dal halwa preparation:
But it is up to you, if you want your halwa to be more rich and silky texture then you can add more fresh desi ghee.
If you don’t have ghee at home, you can replace it with butter and a few teaspoons of oil. Adding oil is also optional but I recommend you to add it for the nice texture of the halwa.
I prefer tha halwa to be very sweet, if you don’t like too much sweet, then reduce the quantity of sugar as per your need.
Am using white sugar here as the traditional recipe of moong dal has white sugar in it. If you want you can replace it with brown sugar or jaggery.
If you are using jaggery, make sure to melt it and strain before adding it into the halwa. So that all the impurities will be removed from it.
Cooking moong dal is an important step while making moong dal halwa. Dry roast the moong dal a bit before washing it to fasten the cooking process.
It should cook to a consistency when you touch it, it must get soft and mushy in between your fingers.
Am making this moong dal halwa without milk, if you prefer moong dal halwa with milk, then you can add the milk while boiling the moong dal.
Serving the halwa:
You can serve this halwa hot directly with some added nuts. Or you can also serve it cold. I made it into pieces so that the serving quantity won’t exceed. You can feed this halwa even to babies from the age 8+ months.
You can refrigerate this halwa for a week and serve little at a time. Use more ghee if you are refrigerating it.

Firstly take a one and half cup of moong dall andclean this fully .

After that wash the moong dall in a water for two times . .
STEP : 3
After washing the dall , now add 1 cup of water to the cooker .
STEP : 4
Now add 1/2 table spun of turmeric powder to the cooker , it makes the dall good texture .

Now add 1 table spun of oil to the cooker , for the softness of the dall .

Now add one pinch of salt to the cooker , it gives the good taste to the sweet .

Now close the cooker and make it 2 whistle , in a medium flame .

Open the cooker after 2 whistle , the dall is looks as in the below image .

After open the cooker , put the dall as i shown in the below image ,to remove the excess water .

Now take a one jar in this add 1 and 1/2 cup of sugar and grind this .

After grinding the sugar powder is looks as i shown in the below image .

Hire we are taking 7 to 8 Cashew for garnishing purpose ,you can also add badam .

Now take a one pan in this add 2 spun of ghee , and make it heat in a low flame , then add 7 to 8 Cashew add fry for 5 minutes .

After frying the Cashew it looks as i shown in the below image . .

After that now put the dall , to the pan which we prepared in the above ,

Now fry the mixer continuously for 5 to 7 minutes in a low medium flame .

Now add 1 cup of Sugar powder ,which we prepared in the above , Because the powder form of sugar is very easy to mix up with the dall .

Now add 1 pinch of cinnamon to the pan , it gives a good flavor to the halwa .

After adding all the ingredients to the pan mix it well , and stirl this continuously .

After frying for 10 minutes the halwa is removing from the pan as in the below image .

Now take a one plate , apply the ghee on it as i shown in the below image .

After applying the ghee to the plate , now put the halwa on the plate ,and let it dry for 5 minutes .

After 5 minutes cut it into pieces and garnish this halwa with Cashew . Now the healthy and tasty Monng Dall Halwa is ready to serve now .
