Vegetable sambar is a traditional South Indian side dish. This is a very popular side dish made in almost all the houses. It goes well with idli, dosa and even with rice and can be taken for breakfast, lunch or even for dinner. Follow this step by step procedure and learn how to make tasty sambar.

Ingredients of Mixed vegetable sambar

1.00 cup Tuvar dal
5.00 no Small onions
2.00 no Tomato
2.00 cup Diced vegetables
0.50 tbsp Turmeric powder
1.00 tbsp Chilli powder
1.00 tbsp Sambar powder
0.25 tbsp Mustard seeds
0.25 tbsp Cumin seeds
0.25 tbsp Asfoetida
2.00 no Dried red chili
0.50 tbsp Coriander leaves
6.00 no Curry leaves
1.00 tbsp Salt
4.00 tbsp Oil

In a pressure cooker, add 1 cup of tuvar dal, add required water, turmeric powder and salt. Pressure cook for 10 minutes (approx. 4-5 whistles)
