Milk Poli – Healthy And Yummy South Indian Recipe For Milk Poli

Ingredients
For Maida Flour Ingredients
- 1.50 cup Maida
- 0.50 cup Rava
- 0.25 tbsp Baking soda
- 0.50 tbsp Salt
- 2.00 tbsp Ghee
- 2.00 tbsp Oil
- 0.50 cup Water
For Sweet Mixture Ingredients
- 1.00 cup Rice
- 0.50 nos coconut
- 2.00 tbsp Gasa gasa
- 2.00 tbsp poppy seeds
- 0.25 cup Almonds
- 0.25 cup cashewnuts
- 0.25 cup Water
- 1.25 cup jaggery
- 0.50 liter milk
- 0.25 tbsp Cardamom powder
- 2.00 tbsp Ghee
- 0.50 cup badam
- 1.00 tbsp raisins
- 2.00 cup Oil
Instructions
For Maida Flour Ingredients
- Take one and half cup of sifted maida or all purpose flour in a seperate bowl.
- Along with that add half cup of rava to make it more crisp in a same bowl.
- Add little bit of baking soda for taste and add a pinch of salt for taste.
- To make a smooth dough ,add two to three tablespoon of oil or ghee into flour.
- Gradually add little by little of water and knead a smooth dough by using hands
- After kneading a soft dough ,close the lid and leave it under 10 to 15 minutes.
- To make a poori, take a knead dough and divide it into required balls .
- Now roll the balls in a round size gently in a small round shape and keep aside.
For Sweet Mixture Ingredients
- The key ingredients to prepare Milk poli, we need milk,maida,cashewnuts, badam,raw rice, rava,Baking soda,poppy seeds,green cardamom,jaggery,coconut,ghee and salt.
- To make rich paste,take half cup of almonds or 10 to 15 almonds in a bowl.
- Along with that add few cashewnuts to make it more rich in a same bowl.
- Add a cup of water along with nuts and soak it under 20 to 25 minutes .
- Add a cup of raw rice, saute it for few minutes until it gets puffed and transfer in a plate.
- Add a fresh grated coconut along in a same pan and roast it for few seconds.
- Add a tablespoon of gasa gasa or poppy seeds and dry roast in a low flame and keep aside.
- Add the roasted coconut ,Raw rice and poppy seeds in a blender or mixie jar.
- Add the soaked nuts along with the roasted ingredients in a blender or mixie jar.
- After blending it few seconds ,add little bit of water to make a smooth paste.
- Now blended it for few minutes until it turns fine paste and keep it aside.
- Add one and half cup of crunched jaggery and stir it completely for few seconds.
- When the jaggery completely dissolves and starts bubbling ,turn off the flame and strain it.
- In a seperate tawa or vessel ,add half litre of milk and bring it to boil for few seconds.
- Add the coarsely blended mixture along with the boiling milk and mix it com pletely.
- Add a half tablespoon of green cardamom powder and mix it continuously for few seconds.
- Gradually add little by little of jaggery syrup and mix at every intervals of time.
- Let’s roast the nuts,place a kadai add the remaining tablespoon of ghee and let it melt.
- Add few broken badam in a ghee and mix it,You can add crunched nuts if you prefer
- Add quarter cup of raisins and mix it in a low flame till it’s dry roasted.
- Add the roasted nuts in a sweet mixture and mix it completely for few seconds.
- Turn on the flame ,place a tawa or pan ,add the required amount of oil.
- Place a roll gently in medium hot oil and fry it till it turns puffed .
- When it is deep fried strain the oil completely ,do the remaining pooris in a same way.
- Add the poori in a sweet mixture and dip it gently ,let it soak for few seconds.Our tasty Milk poli is ready to serve now.
