Ingredients of Maacher kalia

Take the fish pieces, wash and clean them very well and add the salt and turmeric and marinate it very well

Chop the cauliflower into big florets and cut the potato into cubed shape as shown in the image and wash them well.

Heat oil in a kadai and add the fish pieces. Fry them well on both sides till they turn brownish in color

Once all the fish pieces are fried set them aside in a bowl after draining the water off so that the gravy can be cooked.

Heat oil in a kadai and add the cumin seeds and then add the potato and cauliflower cubes and fry them well till they turn golden in color

Add the tomato and chili. Fry the tomato well till it melts and mixes well with the vegetables. Stir while cooking.

Add the salt, turmeric, ginger paste and cumin paste and mix all the contents and stir well so that the contents mix well.

Add 2 cups of water and the fried fish pieces into the kadai and cook till the cauliflower is boiled and the potato is soft. The gravy is thickened.

Pour the gravy in a flat shaped bowl so that the garam masala can be easily mixed and the fish pieces do not break. Now it is ready to be served with rice.
