How To Make Kothimbir Vadi

  • 1.00 cup Gram Flour
  • 2.00 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 2.00 cup Coriander Leaves
  • 4.00 nos Green Chilies
  • 2.00 nos Ginger Pieces
  • 2.00 tbsp White Sesame Seeds
  • 0.25 cup Curry Leaves
  • 1.00 cup Onions
  • 0.5 tbsp Mustard Seeds
  • 0.5 tbsp Hing
  • 0.5 ltr Oil For Fry
  • 1.00 tbsp Salt

How To Make Kothimbir Vadi

  • The key ingredients to prepare kothimbir vada, we need Besan, rice flour,coriander leaves,onion,curry leaves, green chillies, mustard seeds,ginger ,sesame seeds,hing,oil and salt.
  • Take a cup of besan flour or chickpea flour in a seperate bowl in a vessel .
  • Add required amount of water along with the besan flour and mix it using spoon.
  • To prepare a nice batter whisk it continuously with out any lumps and keep aside.
  • For seasoning turn on the flame ,place a pan add a tablespoon of oil in it.
  • Now add the 1/4 tablespoon of mustard seeds and let it splutter few seconds in hot oil.
  • Add two tablespoon of white sesame seeds along with the seeds for more spices for taste.
  • Add a cup of shallot onions along with the seasoning ingredients and saute it few seconds.
  • Add 1/4 cup of curry leaves along with the seasoning ingredients and saute for few seconds.
  • Add a tablespoon of finely chopped green chillies around five to six for more spices.
  • Add a pinch of asafoetida or hing along with the seasoning ingredients and mix it.
  • Add half inch size of ginger pieces finely crunched along with the seasoning ingredients and mix it.
  • Add finely chopped fresh coriander leaves or cilantro along with the more ingredients and mix it .
  • Add prepared chickpea batter along with the ingredients and mix it few seconds in low flame.
  • Add a tablespoon of salt or as per taste along with the other ingredients.
  • Turn off the flame when it turns thick after stirring continuously and allow to cool.

  • Add two tablespoon of rice flour along with the cooled mixture and mix it completely.

  • For frying turn on the flame,In the same pan ,add the required amount of oil.

  • Place the raw shape one by one in hot oil and let it cook for a few minutes.
  • When it fried both sides in a medium flame ,drain out the oil ,turn off the flame,Our tasty kothimbir vada is ready.
