Dry fruits karanji is a famous festival recipe ,specially made these sweet recipe at ganesh chaturthi ,Normally we heard and prepared only the steamed modak,but we can do these recipe by deep frying the modak in a very crispy manner .

0.25 Liter Oil For Fry
0.25 Tbsp Salt

Flour Dough Preparation

Initially take two cups of sifted all purpose flour or maida in a separate bowl.

For preparing smooth dough add half portion or one cup of wheat flour in it.

Add a little bit of semolina or sooja to make the layer crisp and mix it finely.

Add two tablespoon of ghee or clarified butter in mixed flour to make soft dough.

Gradually add little by little of water and knead a smooth dough by using hands

After kneading a soft dough ,close the lid and leave it under 10 to 15 minutes.

Now add the dry coconut pieces in a blender or else you can grate it.

Blend it twice or thrice ,don't blend it too much and transfer it in a plate.

Turn on the flame ,place a pan or tawa ,add two tablespoon of ghee or butter.

When everything is complete ,turn off the flame and allow to cool the mixture ,transfer in a bowl.

Take a knead dough and divide into small balls or lemon size balls ,don't make the balls much bigger.

Roll it ,add a tablespoon of filling in center part and pinch the edges one by one

Drop the karanji one by one in hot oil and deep fry it in a medium flame for few minutes.

Its a special sweet in chadurthi function. Basically altenate of kolukattai its a best dish. Method of preparation is very easy and delicious test. coming chadurthi in my home we try this. But the way of method is good impression to eat. children should eat. Thanks for sharing.
