A Healthy And Tasty Side Dish Of Horse Gram Curry Recipe For Kids
A horse gram curry is healthy side dish preparation for housemates.It is used to removing a kidney stone and lowering the high blood pressure, burn unnecessary fats in our body.
Ingredients
Horse Gram Curry
- 1.00 cup Horse gram
- 2.00 nos onion
- 2.00 nos tomato
- 2.00 cup assorted veggies
- 1.00 nos tamarind extract
- 1.00 tbsp Red chilly powder
- 3.00 tbsp kulambu chilly powder
- 1.00 tbsp curry leaves
- 1.00 tbsp mustard seeds
- 2.00 tbsp salt
- 3.00 tbsp oil
- 1.00 cup grated coconut
- 0.50 cup roasted groundnut
- 1.00 tbsp green chilly
Instructions
Horse Gram Curry
- In a pan heat cooking oil temper the mustard seeds,when oil is hot enough.add curry leaves and chopped garlic and finely chopped 2 medium size onions and saute it well
- when the onion turns in to golden brown add chopped tomatoes on it stir well and saute it by adding a pinch of salt for quick saute
- when the tomatoes are completely smashed add all the powders such ac kulambu chilly powder,a pinch turmeric powder and mix well for two minutes
- at this stage add the vegetables like drumsticks,potatoes and brinjal,you can also pressure cook the vegetables separately for one whistle with little red chilly powder
- saute the veggies for a while then add horse-gram,and mix well for two minutes and this stage adjust water if necessary and allow to cook for five minutes in medium to high flame.
- by this time the vegetables should turn tender, GRINDING: In a mixer jar add 1 cup of grated coconut ,1-2 green chilly and a table of roasted groundnut and grind it into a fine paste.
- when the vegetables are boiled add 1/4 cup of tamarind extract and keep boil for two minutes,then finally add the grounded coconut paste and let them boil for few minutes in low to medium flame
- Once the gravy gets thick and oil floats on top turn off the heat,and serve with rice or idly or tiffin varieties.
