Penetrating Flavour, Spicy And Delicious Ginger Thokku
Ginger thokku is penetrating flavour, spicy and delicious recipe. Ginger which is highly used in Indian food which has high medicinal value and here this is the different type of thokku.
Ingredients

- 1.00 cup Grated Ginger
- 0.25 cup Tamarind Extract
- 1.00 tbsp Jaggery
- 1.00 tbsp Red Chilly Powder
- 0.25 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 0.50 tbsp Mustard Seeds
- 0.25 tbsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 0.50 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 0.25 tbsp Hinz
- 0.50 tbsp Salt
- 4.00 tbsp Oil
Instructions
Ginger Thokku
- For Dry Roasting: In a pan add one tablespoon of mustard seeds,1/2 tbsp of fenugreek seeds and one tbsp of cumin seeds,are roast well in medium flame,
- In a mixer jar add the roasted ingredients and grind it as fine powder without adding any water,as dry roasted powder,
- Heat a pan add 4 tbsp of oil and 1/4 tbsp of mustard seeds,1/2 tbsp of cumin seeds and 1/4 tbsp of hinz and a cup of grated ginger and saute well till it gets boiled,
- Then add red chilly powder and turmeric powder and mix well in slow flame,do not burn the ginger by boiling in full flame,
- When the ginger get semi boiled add the tamarind extract water and add salt at this stage,and cook well for few minutes in medium flame,
- When the water get full dried and the extra oil floats on the surface,at this stage add the dry roasted powder and mix well and add the jaggery or sugar at this stage and remove from flame.
