STEP : 1
The key ingredients to prepare corn upma or makyancha upma,we need corn,poha,butter milk,chopped onions,urad dal,turmaric powder,mustard seeds,oil and salt to taste.

Turn on a low flame place a non-stick kadai or tawa,add one cup of poha or flattened rice and saute it slightly for few seconds.

Now keep the flatten rice in a separate bowl,in a same tawa add three tablespoon of oil and let it heats on a low flame.

When oil gets heat,add a tablespoon of mustard seeds and let it splutter for a seconds.

Add 8 to 10 curry leaves,you can also add chopped ginger and asafoetida a pinch,if you prefer.

Now split two tablespoon of urad dal,saute till colour changes.You can also split chana dal or roasted pea nuts.

Now add finely chopped two medium size onions and saute it well till the onion colour changes.You can also add green chillies or red chillies.

STEP : 8
To make a semi coarse paste,take a blender add a cup of corns and blend it for few seconds.

Now the mixture is blended,while blending you can add a little bit of water for smooth blending.

STEP : 10
When the onion changes into golden brown colour,add a blended corn mixture into it and mix it well.

STEP : 11
Now add a cup of roasted poha or flattened rice into the half cooked mixture, mix it well and leave till the poha blend with the mixture.

Now add a pinch of turmaric powder and saute it well untill the water is absorbed.

Now add a tablespoon of salt for the taste and mix it.Let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

Now add a cup of butter milk for rich taste and let the butter milk cook for few seconds til it gets absorbed.

STEP : 15
Now the mixture is completely dried,our corn upma is ready to serve,you can trasfer it in a separate bowl.
