- 1.00 cup Desiccated coconut
- 0.25 liter milk
- 0.25 cup Raw rice
- 0.50 cup green cardamoms
- 0.50 cup Jaggery
- 1.00 cup Sugar
- 0.50 cup ghee
- 5.00 nos cashewnuts
- 10.00 nos raisins
- 0.50 tbsp Salt

Coconut Fudge Recipe
- The key ingredients to prepare thengai therattipal,we need desiccated coconut,milk,raw rice ,jaggery ,sugar,green cardamoms ,cashewnuts,raisins ,ghee and salt.
- Initially take 1/4 cup of raw rice ,add water and soak it for one hour.
- For these dessert ,cardamom powder gives rich taste and smell , add half cup of green cardamoms in a blender.
- Grind it for few minutes till it turns nice powder,if you have cardamom powder already no need to grind .
- Desiccated coconut or copra is basically hard,so cut the half ounce of copra into small pieces
- Then add in a blender jar to make the fine paste ,if it is fresh coconut ,you can grate it.
- Add the soaked raw rice into a blender and add little bit water not too much.
- Blend it for few minutes ,when it is half blended add little bit of water.
- Blend it for few minutes till it turns a coarse paste ,raw rice gives the nice coarse paste.
- Transfer the ground coconut in a seperate mixing bowl or vessel and mix it completely.
- Add little bit of salt and mix it completely,adding salt tends to increase the taste .
- Turn on the flame ,place a long and heavy bottomed kadai or vessel ,add a tablespoon of ghee.
- Now add the blended coconut mixture and mix it using spatula in a low flame.
- At the same time ,place another vessel ,add 1/4th cup of milk and allow to boil.
- Mix it thoroughly and it is very important to keep in medium flame till the ending stage.
- When the milk starts frosting mix it till it reduces its original quantity or little bit thick.
- Add the powdered jaggery in a boiling milk and mix it till it dissolves completely.
- When the milk changes it color and reducing it’s original quantity ,turn off the flame
- Add the boiling milk into the thick mixture and keep stirring it continuously for few minutes.
- Mix it completely with out any lumps or else it will stick to bottom part.
- At every intervals add a tablespoon of ghee so that it gives a smooth and creamy texture.
- Add a cup of sugar in the mixture and mix it thoroughly for few minutes.
- Add a tablespoon of blended green cardamoms and mix it finely for good smell and taste.
- To roast the nuts and raisins,Take a seperate kadai and add a tablespoon of ghee
- Add 5 to 6 nos of cashews and roast it till it color changes in low flame
- Add few raisins and mix it ,you can skip to add raisins if you won’t prefer.
- Add the roasted nuts into the mixture and mix it or else it starts to burn in bottom
- When everything is complete ,turn off the flame ,allow it to cool ,transfer in a bowl,our tasty thenga therattipal is ready.
