Ingredients
Chirer Pulao
- 1.00 cup chudachire
- 0.50 cup moongfali
- 1.00 nos potato
- 1.00 nos onion
- 1.00 tbsp ghee
- 0.50 tbsp cumin seeds
- 0.50 tbsp turmeric powder
- 0.50 tbsp coriander powder
- 0.50 tbsp green chilly chopped
- 0.50 tbsp salt
- 0.25 tbsp sugar

- Bengali chirer polao is a breakfast dish. It contains a mild sweetness in this . We can use various types of sesonal vegetables in the polao. such as cauliflower , beans ,peas , carrot etc . This makes the dish healthy.
- It is very healthy and light breakfast so we can choose it as school tiffin lunch to. You can serve chirer polao as breakfast along with tea or can enjoy as an evening tea time snacks too. Here according to season we use only potato and onion in it.
- Take one cup of chide or chuda Rinse it well under the running water . Stir the chuda gently by hand while rinsing otherwise it becomes mushy at the time of cooking. Keep aside the chuda. Cut one medium potato in small cubes.
- Take one medium sized onion chopped it finely. Now take a kadhai .Add 2 tbsp of ghee in it . Let it be heated . Add peanuts or mungfaly . Fry it still crispy and light brown. Take it off from the kadhai keep aside.
- Now add 2 tbsp of more ghee in the same kadhai. Now heat the ghee add cumin seeds and one dry red chilly fry it for few seconds. Then add cubed small potatoes . Let it fry for few mins till light brown .
- Now add chopped onion in it let it fry till pink colour. now add chuda or chide mix it well. add salt as per your taste , turmeric powder , coriander powder and 1/2 tbsp of sugar in it mix it properly.
- Now add fried peanut in it. mix all the ingredients. Sprinkle some water in it , sim the gas and cover the kadhai. after 10 mins open the cover and check the potatoes are cooked or not. Add 1 tbsp of ghee in it . Serve it with hot tea.
