Chakka curry is a traditional curry made with raw jackfruit known as chakka in Malayalam. This curry requires a jackfruit that is neither completely raw nor fully ripe. The fruit should be pale yellow and when tasted it will have slightly sour taste. That kind of jackfruit will be perfect for this chakka curry. It can be served with rice or can eat alone.

Ingredients of Chakka curry

5.00 kg Jackfruit
0.50 tbsp Salt
10.00 tbsp Coconut oil
0.25 cup Water
2.00 tbsp Garlic
2.00 tbsp Onion
2.00 tbsp Chilly Powder
2.00 tbsp Curry leaves

Peel and cut the jackfruit into small pieces. Take a vessel, put these chopped jackfruit pieces into it and fill it with water.

Heat kadai or pan, add coconut oil, crushed garlic and onions, Chilly Powder and curry leaves. Saute well until the onion become light brown.
