I often make sambar or rasam like curries,i choose to make accompanying a side dish like poriyal recipes,since the cabbage poriyal with curd is good and tasty combo with the plain rice with curries and this delicious cabbage poriyal with spicy and creamy flavor.

Ingredients of Cabbage poriyal

2.00 cup Cabbage
0.25 cup Grated Coconut
1.00 no Onion
2.00 no Green Chilly
0.50 tbsp Ginger Slice
0.50 tbsp Garlic
2.00 tbsp Curd
0.25 tbsp Mustard seeds
0.25 tbsp Cumin Seeds
1.00 tbsp Red gram
0.50 tbsp Salt
2.00 tbsp oil

Cabbage poriyal

Wash well the cabbage and fine chop the vegetable into thin slices,and also wash and chop the green chilies,onion and 1/2 an inch of ginger and two garlic pods.

Heat a pan add two tbsp of oil when gets hot add some mustard seeds and cumin seeds into it,and wait for it plotters.

After plotters the seeds add chopped ginger and garlic,saute for few seconds and add some red gram into that and keep fry for few seconds.

Then add the fine chopped onion and green chilies and some curry leaves,and saute well for few seconds till the onion gets its transparency in medium flame to avoid the over burn.

Then add some water as by spraying and add needed salt at this stage and close the lid and bring to boil for few seconds.

when the water gets dried and also the cabbage is well cooked,now add the grated coconut and some coriander leaves on it.

After mix the coconut to the cabbage together remove from the flame and keep it for cool for some time,when its gets cold now add two tbsp of curd on it,because while adding the curd when the dish is hot there is a change to form as watery.

Cabbage is very good for health but most of them are not ready to eat. I tried it in my home my family members really loved it and it is a good side dish for rasam and sambar. Thanks for sharing.

this recipe looks very good ,the combination of cabbage and curd looks very good ,I think the curd is a best substitute of tomato ,if the tomato prizes high we can surely make this dish with curd, cabbage is not my favourite vegetable but I will definetly try this for my family I am going to try this with chapati. thank you so much for sharing this kind of healthy and tasty dish.

The Dry palya looks good! I am going to try with puri or chapathi. I think the curd is a best substitute of tomato. If the tomato prize rises we can make this dish. cabbage reduces the water in our body. It's looking just reg good for breakfast recipe. Thanks for sharing.
