STEP : 1
Take the 2 Indian Butter Fish (Pabda Mach) wash them very well and clean them and cut them into 3 pieces so that salt penetrates into all pieces.

Marinate the fish pieces with salt and turmeric and set the fish aside for about 20 minutes so that the salt penetrates well inside.
STEP : 3
Heat oil in a kadai and fry the marinated fish pieces in all directions till they turn golden brown in color.

After all the fish has been fried drain the excess oil and set aside the fish pieces so that the gravy can be cooked.

Take the onion and tomato and wash them and then make a fine paste of the onion and tomato and also slit the green chili.

Heat oil in a kadai and add the kalonji seeds to it. Add the onion paste, tomato paste and mustard paste. Add the turmeric and a pinch of salt. Fry them well and mix all the contents well.

Add the fried fish to the masala and add a cup of water to form the gravy and cook well till it forms a consistent gravy and is thick.
