STEP : 1
Set aside the moong dal, peel the lauki (bottle gourd) and the bitter gourd so that they can be used in the dal.
STEP : 2
Add water in a pressure cooker and add the lauki cubes, along with the dry roasted dala and salt as shown and boil the dal till it melts.
STEP : 3
Heat oil in a kadai and add the celery seeds, cuminseeds and the mustard seeds, bay leaf and red chili and fry them till they are darker in color.
STEP : 4
Add the chopped bitter gourd (thin slices) into the kadai and fry them well so that it becomes brownish in color.
STEP : 5
After the dal has been boiled and the pressure is cooled, take it out from the same and pour it to the kadai, add some sugar, green chili and ginger paste and stir well. Cook for 4-5 minutes and then it is ready to be served by adding adequate amount of ghee.
