STEP : 1
1. Take 1 cup of moong dal and roast it on a low flame until the colour of moong dal get change into slight pink. Transfer the roasted dal on a bowl and wash it at least for 2 3 times.
STEP : 2
2. Peel the skin of bottle gourd and cut the pieces of bottle gourd into square pieces. Heat oil on a nonstick pan and add the cubes of bottle gourd and saute it for few minutes.

On the same non stick pan add 2 cups of water, roasted moong dal, turmeric powder, salt as required, pinch of sugar, œ teaspoon grated ginger and reduce the flame to low and cover the pan with a lid at least for 30 minutes.

Turn off the flame and transfer the cooked dal to a separate bowl. Now heat oil in a kadai and add kalonji seeds and whole red chili. Saute it for few minutes.
STEP : 5
Now add the boiled moong dal and bottle gourd to the same kadai and mix well. Increase the flame to medium and reduce the excess water from the dal.
STEP : 6
Check the consistency of lau moong dal and add 1 tablespoon of ghee. Turn off the flame and transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
