Bhindi or lady’s finger is a vegetable with no cholesterol in it. It also has the power to destroy bad cholesterol in the human body. 

Bhindi has a vibrant and attractive green vegetable which takes place in most of the Indian thali. 

You can prepare bhindi in many variations, each recipe has its unique taste and texture. 

This bhindi fry recipe tastes so good as it is a combination of bhindi and potato together. 

You can prepare this fry with very less ingredients which are easily available in your kitchen. The preparation time is also very less only. 

You can serve this bhindi fry to roti, chapathi or along with some rice and curry. 

You can make bhindi masala as per your need. This is no onion, no tomato bhindi fry. 

If you want a curry or gravy version then try making punjabi bhindi fry

Preparing the Masala Paste

I prefer using less masala items in my cooking. Because too much masalas may cause irritation to our bowl system. 

Have a habit of eating less spicy and less masala foods at least an one or two days in a week. 

The main ingredients for the masala paste of this bhindi fry are mustard and green chilli. 

You just have to grind the mustard and green chilli to a smooth paste and yes tada the masala is ready. 

Am not using red chilli powder or any other spice powders so am using a bit more of green chilli. 

If you want your food to be mild, then reduce the number of green chilli. 

Variations in Bhindi Fry

There are many variations in bhindi fry. This recipe I am showing you now is not the crispy version.

For hot roti’s I sometimes make aloo bhindi fry which has lots of flavourful masalas and yes it tastes the best on rainy evenings. 

You can make bhindi fry with onion, bhindi fry with peanuts and any ingredient you can combine with bhindi will give a unique different taste. 

For serving with hot steam rice, try this bhindi masala, it will taste splendid and yes there is no compromise in eating delicious foods. 

Tips to Cook a Perfect Bhindi Fry

Cook this recipe in fresh lady’s finger or bhindi. Choosing the vegetable is quite a hard job but you must invest your time in finding fresh bhindi. 

In this recipe I recommend you to use bhindi as big pieces, chopping it too small may change the cooking time of potato and bhindi. To match the cooking time, I am using big pieces of bhindi. If you are chopping bhindi into small pieces then make potato also as small cubes. 

You can skip potato in this recipe but it will taste better with potatoes.


Ingredients of Bhindi fry

0.25 kg ladyfinger
1.00 tbsp mustered seeds
1.00 no potatobig
4.00 no green chili
0.50 tbsp salt
0.25 tbsp turmeric powder
2.00 tbsp oil

Take some ladyfinger and keep aside, take four potatoes, two green chili, and some mustard seeds all those things bring together and keep aside.

Pill the potatoes and cut it properly and wash it with water and put it on a plate and keep aside for cooking the next step.

Take a grinder and add some mustard seeds and then paste then wet for next step for paste the mustard seeds properly.

Take a pan and put it in a gas oven on high flame, when oil become hot add some oil in it.
