Maharashtrian Mini Bhakarwadi is most famous maharashtrian snack dish and also sweet dish. These are all the ingredients used in sweet spicy mixture of coconut, poppy,sesame seeds.
Ingredients
Maida Preparation
- 1.00 cup Maida
- 1.00 cup Besan flour
- 1.00 tbsp Red chilli powder
- 0.25 tbsp Turmeric powder
- 0.75 tbsp Salt
- 3.00 tbsp Hot oil
- 1.00 cup Water
- 0.50 tbsp Hing
Masala Preparation
- 1.00 cup Dry coconut
- 0.50 tbsp Red chilli powder
- 0.50 tbsp Turmeric powder
- 0.50 tbsp Black pepper powder
- 0.50 tbsp Cumin seeds
- 0.50 tbsp Garam masala
- 0.50 tbsp Dry mango powder
- 1.00 tbsp Coriander powder
- 0.50 tbsp Fennel seeds
- 1.00 tbsp Poppy seeds
- 2.00 tbsp White sesame seeds
- 0.25 liter Oil for fry
Instructions
Maida Preparation
- Take a cup of sifted or sieved all purpose flour in a seperate bowl to prepare dough.
- Add a cup of besan flour or chick pea flour along with the all purpose flour.
- Add a tablespoon of red chilli powder along with the combined flour for more spices.
- Add a pinch of turmeric powder along with the combined flour for the blended taste.
- Add little bit of salt and a pinch of hing or asafoetida along with the mixture
- Add half cup of hot oil along with the combined flour and mix it using hands.
- Gradually add little by little of water and knead a smooth dough by using hands
- When dough is prepared roughly,add a tablespoon of cooking oil on top of the dough.
- Now the rest dough for 15 minutes ,cover it with a kitchen cloth and keep aside.
- Now take a kneaded and rest dough and divide the dough into two equal parts
Masala Preparation
- The key ingredients to prepare bhakarwadi ,we need Maida,besan flour, dry coconut, hing,cumin seeds,fennel seeds,sesame seeds, ,oil, turmeric powder,red chilly powder,garam masala ,coriander powder,black pepper powder and salt to taste.
- For masala stuffing ,take a blender add a cup of dry coconut or dessicated coconut.
- Add half tablespoon of red chilli powder, turmeric powder,cumin seeds and pinch black pepper powder.
- Add half tablespoon of garam masala ,you can add a tablespoon of drymango powder or aamchur.
- Add a tablespoon of coriander powder or dhania powder along with the coconut and more spices.
- Add a pinch of fennel seeds along with the combined flour for the blended taste.
- Add a tablespoon of poppy seeds or gasa gasa along with the combined spices and coconut.
- Add two tablespoon of white sesame seeds along with the combined spices and coconut mixture.
- Now blend all those spices till it blend with each other or a coarse powder.
- Roll the dough in a flat surface by using rolling stick by dusting some flour.
- After brushing with little bit oil on top ,spread the blended mixture on all sides.
- Slowly roll the chappathi very tightly ,make sure there are no gaps while deep frying bhakarwadi will fall apart.
- Close the edges on both side then cut into small pieces to deep fry bhakarwadi
- Turn on the flame,place a pan or tawa ,add the required amount of oil ,let it heat.
- Drop the bhakarwadi one by one in hot oil and let it fry for few seconds.
- When it turns golden ,Take out and drain the excess oil completely.Our tasty Bhakarwadi snack is ready.
