  • 4.00 no Eggs
  • 4.00 no potato medium
  • 2.00 no onion
  • 1.00 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1.00 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1.00 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 1.00 tbsp garam masala powder
  • 1.00 tbsp salt
  • 1.00 tbsp sugar
  • 3.00 tbsp mastered oil
  • 1.00 no Tomato
  • 1.00 no Bay leaf
  • 2.00 no Red chilly
  • 2.00 no cardamom
  • 3.00 no cinnamon stick
  • 3.00 no Cloves

Bengali egg curry

  • Dimer dalna or Bengali egg curry is all time hot favorite of every Bengali family. This dish is loved by all age groups of peoples. Either young or old. Everybody has a different method to cook Egg curry. Here’s i am going to share my style.
  • This recipe is quick and takes maximum 30 to 35 mins.This dish is little spicy ,sweet and salty. Bengalis are loved sweets and they also show their love in their cooked dishes too. We usually use chin or sugar in any dish to give it a different taste .
  • Now we are going to start the dish. Take 4 eggs , take a pan and boil them. and keep the eggs in this boiled water for few minutes .Drain out the eggs from the water.Peel out the egg shell.
  • Make stile cuts on throne side of the eggs and lightly fry them in 1 to 2 tbsp of oil in a kadai. Fry till it gets light brown colour. Keep aside. O the other side take 4 medium sized potatoes,peel them and wash them.
  • Take a kadai add 2 tbsp of mustard oil in it and fry the potatoes. While ring potatoes add a pinch of salt in it. After it gets light brown colour drain out the potatoes from the oil and keep aside.
  • Take 2 medium sized onions ,chopped them finely in a chopper. Take 5- 6 cloves of garlic chopped them too. Take 2 medium sized tomato chopped it finely.Take 1 tbsp of ginger smooth paste. Now heat the same kadai in which we fried the potatoes.
  • Add 2 tbsp of more oil. Let it be heated. At first add 1/2 tsp of chin or sugar in it and fry for few seconds. Add bay leaf, dry red chili, cloves ,cinnamon cardamom. Fry the whole things for few seconds.
  • There is one thing to be noted above we use chin or sugar in oil and fry it , it gives the dish a very good colour and a good aroma. Add chopped onion in this oil fry it. Add chopped garlic .
  • Add ginger paste in it mix properly.Fry till it gets light brown colour. Then add chopped tomato in it fry it properly.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder ,garam masala powder and salt as per your taste in it.mix them very well.
  • fried masala. Make it that the masala coated all the eggs and potatoes. Add 1.5 cup of normal water.Cover it and medium the gas.After 10 mins open the cover and check the potatoes cook or not. It should be a minimum gravy.Garnish it and serve.
