Ingredients of Beetroot poriyal
STEP : 1
Wash the beetroot and peel the skin of beetroot and cut it into small size. Also take half cup of matar (peas). I have taken fresh peas if you like you can use frozen peas.
STEP : 2
Heat 2 tablespoon of mustard oil in a non-stick pan. add 1 teaspoon of kalonji seeds. 1 bay leaves and 2 green chilli. Sauté it for a minute on low flame.
STEP : 3
Now add the chopped beet root and half cup peas and sauté it for few minutes. After that add grated ginger. turmeric powder and salt as require.
STEP : 4
Again mix it well. add Œ cup of water and cover the non-stick pan with a lid on the low flame at least for 20 minutes. Open the lid and check beet root is completely cooked or not.
STEP : 5
Add half teaspoon of garam masala. pinch of sugar. half teaspoon of dry mango powder and 1 tablespoon of ghee and again mix well. Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with roasted cashew nuts and almonds.
