Batata bhaji is a spicy and crispy bhaji. This is very famous dish on Mumbai street food. It is very easy to cooked at home and very simple dish. It is good breakfast for everyone.
Ingredients
Batata Bhaji
- 1.00 nos Potato
- 0.25 tbsp Turmeric
- 0.50 tbsp Cumin seeds
- 0.25 tbsp Salt
- 1.00 cup Gram floor
Instructions
Batata Bhaji
- Select the big size and round shaped potato for making batata bhaji Cut the potato in 1/2 cm thick peaces and then keep them in cold water so that the excess starch is removed from the potato.
- Take a medium size bowl and add 1 cup of gram floor to it. Add salt to taste, a pinch of turmeric powder, and finally add crushed cumin seed to the mixture.
- Add about 1/4 cup of water to the mixture and make thick consistency batter so the the slices of potato can be nicely coated. Let the batter rest a side for 10 minutes till the oil is getting hot so the batter will be fermented.
- Heat the oil in the kadhai and then coat the slices of potato with the gram floor batter and let them cook in the hot oil for 3 mins on each side. Remember to check the oil is hot or not before frying them and donŽt over crowed the kadhai 5 slices at a time is good enough.
