This is a very simple Bengali dish made out of Banana stem. It is very tasty and tastes best when the tender banana stem is used. It is served best with rice. It needs very little ingredients. Just need to make sure that the banana stem is very well boiled and mashed before cooking.

Ingredients of Banana stem curry

0.25 kg Banana Stem
1.00 no Onion
1.00 no Tomato
3.00 no Chili
0.25 tbsp Kalonji Seeds
0.25 tbsp Salt
0.25 tbsp Sugar
3.00 tbsp Oil
0.25 tbsp Turmeric

Remove the top skin of the banana stem and chop it into small pieces. Wash the cut banana stem pieces before boiling in a pressure cooker.

After boiling the banana stem in step 1 take it out from the pressure cooker and mash it very well with hand.

To the mixture above add the tomato and fry till it softens and the tomato melts in the masala completely.

Add a pinch of salt and tiurmeric and mix well. Add the sugar and mix it thoroughly so that the masala is ready.
