Indian people are fond of pickles, mostly south Indians . Amla pickles is an easy recipe that does not involve cooking except from tempering the oil with spices. It stays good for about 6 months even when kept at room temperature.

Ingredients of Amla pickle

1.00 kg Amla
2.00 cup Oil
1.00 cup Red chilli powder
0.50 cup Salt
0.50 cup Tamarind paste
1.00 cup Mustard seeds powder
1.00 tbsp Cumin powder
0.50 cup Garlic
1.00 tbsp Fenugreek seeds powder

Amla pickle

The first most step is to wash and dry the amla. And put cuts into the amla on four sides and keep it aside.

Now take a deep bottomed pan and add about 2 cups of oil and fry the amla for about 2 minutes.

Now take the amla into another bowl. Add 1 cup of red chilli powder and half cup of salt and 1 tablespoon of cumin powder and mix it well

Now add 2 tablespoons of fenugreek powder and 1 cup of mustard powder and 2 cups of oil and mix well

Also add Half cup of garlic to it and half cup of tamarind paste or lemon juice based upon your taste.

Mix all the ingredients well and leave for about 1 day. Next day again mix the pickle and store it in a container. Now pickle is ready to serve.
