- 0.25 kg Paneer chana
- 3.00 nos potato big
- 1.00 cup peas green
- 2.00 tbsp tomato paste
- 1.00 tbsp ginger paste
- 0.25 tbsp hing
- 0.50 tbsp turmeric powder
- 0.50 tbsp coriander powder
- 0.50 tbsp garam masala powder
- 1.00 nos bay leaf
- 0.50 tbsp cumin seeds
- 0.50 tbsp red chilly powder
- 2.00 tbsp ghee

- Chana or paneer is a basic ingredient or we can say food for every Bengali family. With chana or paneer Be, with a rich thick gravy. It is up to you how to ngali’s made many sweets. In curry item chanar dalna is a hit dish of every Bengali’s. They make this dish I am sure once a week.
- Usually Dalna is a type of Bengali curry with a thick rich gravy. It is up to you how to make it either thick gravy or watery that is called Jhol. Chana or paneer is easily available in any sweet shop.
- If you want to make home made paneer or chana you can take 1 liter milk, keep boiling it. Then add 3 tbsp. viniger or 3 tbsp. lemon juice. mix well. After that drain out the paneer from the left water that is left from milk.
- Here I use ready made paneer or chana. At first cut the chana in small cubes. Take a kadhai add 3 tbsp. of oil and slide the paneer one by one . fry the paneer till it gets brown colour.
- Take a bowl add approx. 2 cups of water and boil it add 2 pinch salt in the boiling water Switch off the gas. Add the fried paneer in the boiling water to soak some water. This process makes paneer soft.
- Now take 3 potatoes peel it and cut it into small cubes. Take the same kadhai in which we fried the paneer. Add 2 tbsp. of more oil in the left oil in kadhai. Let it heat. Add 1 bay leaf a pinch of hing and 1/2 tbsp. of cumin seeds. Let’s sizzle.
- Add 1 bay leaf, a pinch of hing, and cumin seeds lets sizzle them. Now add the potato cubes in the oil. Fry the potatoes till light brown colour. Now take 1 tomato and ginger and cumin seeds in a mixing jar.
- Grind the whole ingredients Make a smooth paste. When the potatoes are fried add the grind paste in the potatoes. Mix them properly. Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder red chilly powder in it.
- Mix the whole properly. Now add the green peas in this. Fry the whole ingredients till it started leaving oil from the sides . Add salt in it. Now add the fried paneer in it mix them.
- Add the left warm water in which we were pour the fried paneer for few mins. Now add more salt if needed. Add 1/2 tbsp of sugar in it. Sim the gas and cover it. Check after 10 mins the potatoes are cooked or not. Add 2 tbsp of ghee in it. Garnish it and serve with rice or roti.
