Aloo matar is a famous north Indian recipe which is a best side dish for chapathi, roti or rice.
You can also use this recipe as a stuffing while making sandwiches or stuffed roti.
In many parts of India people won’t run even a single day without making this aloo matar ki sabzi.
Using fresh matar or peas is a must thing while making this recipe. Because it gives the real flavour when you make it along with aloo.
Variations in Aloo Matar
The basic ingredients for making this recipe are potato and fresh green peas.
It is okay to use frozen green peas if you can’t find fresh green peas in the market.
All other masalas, you can add as per your choice. Some people prefer making aloo matar curry in slightly gravy form. And yes some people prefer it as an aloo matar dry recipe.
So the consistency is completely depending on your preference.
The recipe which I am showing today is the simplest version of aloo matar as it contains only 4 ingredients but trust me there is no compromise in taste.
You can also make aloo matar masala by adding red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric and garam masala.
You can even add onion, tomato and ginger garlic paste.
Make variations in the same recipe and prepare aloo matar paneer, aloo gobi matar, aloo matar gajar, etc.,
Quick and Easy Aloo Matar Recipe
Today I am making this simple and easy aloo matar recipe for you all to enjoy a light and comfortable meal on your busy day.
I used only very few ingredients which are easily available in everyone’s kitchen.
I prefer this recipe to be a little spicy, so I am adding lots of green chillies in it and remember I am not adding any other spicy ingredients.
If you want this to be more mild, then reduce the count of green chillies.
Serving Options
You can serve this aloo matar for chapathi and roti.
You can also eat this along with ghee rice, jeera rice or any variety rice recipes.
You can also use this recipe as a stuffing while making aloo matar sandwich, aloo matar puri, aloo matar cutlet, aloo matar kachori, etc.,
If you have leftover aloo matar for the next day, you can make a simple chat with it by adding some sev, pomegranates, onion and tomato ketchup.
You can also use some green chutney and sweet chutney for garnishing the chaat.

STEP : 1
Take two potatoes, some green peas, some kalonji and some green chili all those things bring together and keep aside for cooking.

Cut the potatoes into small pieces and keep aside, pill the green matar and keep aside and author things bring together and keep aside.

Take a pan then hot this pan, when the pan become hot add some oil in it and hot it another one minutes.

STEP : 4
Then add some kalonji into the hot oil and fry them for few seconds on the high flame on the gas oven.

Then add some green chilies into the hot oil and fry them for few seconds on the high flame on the gas oven.

Then add some potato pieces into the hot oil and fry them for few minutes on the high flame on the gas oven.

Then add some salt on the fried potato pieces and fry them for few minutes on the high flame on the gas oven.

Then add some turmeric powder on the potato pieces and fry them for few minutes on the high flame on the gas oven.

Then add some green pieces on the cooked potato pieces and fried onion and fry them for few minutes on the high flame on the gas oven.

Then add some water in the cooked peas and potato pieces and fried onion and fry them for few minutes on the high flame on the gas oven.
